Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or the Clinical Laboratory Science is a branch of science that deals with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases using clinical laboratory tests. It is complimentary to medical science. This involves analysis of the body fluids including tissues and blood. It also covers micro-organism screening, chemical analyses and cell count.Medical Laboratory Technologists perform most of their tasks such as preparation of slides of human tissues or other specimens, using laboratory equipments. They also carry out tasks such as blood tests and blood typing. These professionals play a very important role in collecting information, sampling, testing, reporting and documenting medical investigations.
