Dr. Soumitra Mukherjee is a highly accomplished Cardiac Anaesthesiologist serving as Senior Consultant and Head of the Department of Anaesthesia, with additional responsibility as In-Charge of the Operation Theatre. With extensive experience in managing complex and high-risk cardiac surgical procedures, he plays a pivotal role in ensuring patient safety, surgical precision and optimal perioperative outcomes.

He holds an impressive academic portfolio including MBBS, MD, PDCC (Cardiac Anaesthesia), DrNB (Cardiac Anaesthesia), FIACTA(P) and FTEE, reflecting advanced training and expertise in cardiac anaesthesia and perioperative echocardiography. Prior to joining his current institution, Dr. Mukherjee was associated with NH RTIICS, Kolkata, one of the country’s premier cardiac care centers, where he gained vast exposure to advanced cardiac surgeries and critical care.

Dr. Mukherjee’s clinical interests include complex congenital cardiac surgery, complex aortic surgery, minimally invasive cardiac surgery and echocardiography. He is deeply committed to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
